1. Two different things
People often mean one of two things by "delete my data", and they have different effects:
- Disconnecting an ad account stops AskAds reading your advertising data and deletes the stored access token. Your AskAds account and past conversations remain.
- Deleting your account removes everything — conversations, projects, notes and connections — permanently.
2. Disconnecting an ad account
- Sign in to AskAds.
- Open Connections from the sidebar.
- Choose the connected account and select Disconnect.
The stored access token is deleted immediately and AskAds can no longer read that account. Advertising figures previously cached expire on their own shortly afterwards.
3. Deleting a project
Each project holds its own chats, notes, settings and connections. To remove one, open the project menu in the sidebar and choose Delete project. You must keep at least one project on your account.
4. Deleting your whole account
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account.
We use the sending address to verify the request, which is why it must come from the account's own email. If you cannot access that inbox, write to us anyway and we will find another way to verify you.
This cannot be undone. Deleting your account permanently removes your conversation history and everything the assistant has learned about your business. Export anything you want to keep first.
5. What gets deleted
- Your account and email address
- All projects and their settings
- All conversations, including assistant replies and tool activity
- All notes the assistant kept about your business
- All advertising account connections and their encrypted access tokens
- Any pending proposed changes that were never approved
- Cached advertising data and creative analyses
We may retain a minimal record where the law requires it — for example invoicing records for tax purposes. Those are kept only as long as required and are not used for anything else.
Deleting your AskAds account does not delete anything in your Meta or Google ad account. Your campaigns, ads and history stay exactly as they are.
6. Removing AskAds from Meta directly
You can also revoke our access from Meta's side, independently of us:
- Go to Facebook Settings → Business Integrations.
- Find AskAds in the list.
- Select Remove.
This revokes the access token immediately. AskAds will report the connection as expired the next time it tries to read your account, and will ask you to reconnect if you ever want to resume.
The equivalent for Google Ads is the Google Account permissions page.
7. How long it takes
- Disconnecting an account — immediate.
- Deleting a project — immediate.
- Deleting your account — we action it within 7 days of verifying the request, and it is fully removed from our systems, including backups, within 30 days.
We will confirm by email once the deletion is complete. If you have not heard from us within 7 days, chase us at [email protected].
